Lee Verty Lewis

July 19, 1931 — August 29, 2020

Lee Verty Lewis, 89 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Saturday, August 29, 2020 at her home. She was born July 19, 1931 to Rose Lee and Goldie Reece Shipman in Lake City. Lee Verty worked at Hancock Fabrics as a sales person and she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Lee Verty enjoyed traveling, sewing and crafting, she was also a member of the Red Hats. She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.


Survivors include 3 sons, Ronnie Green of Memphis, Kevin Green of Memphis and Perry Lewis of Jonesboro; 3 daughters, Connie Ford, Tina Cooper and Donna Houston all of Jonesboro; brother, Wilson Shipman of Jonesboro; 2 sisters, Helen Hale of Lake City and Linda Morgan of Dallas, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.


Visitation will be Monday, August 31, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home from 5-7 pm.
Service will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Don Seat officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.


Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Brody Ford, Matt Green, Kaleb Burrow, Conner Flores, Michael Flores and Zack Houston.
Due to Covid-19 guidlines, a facemask must by worn while in the stateroom and chapel. Social distancing is strongly recommended at the graveside,
