L.C. “Buttons” McHalffey, 77, of Trumann passed from this life on Friday, November 13, 2020. He was born to the late S.D. and Cordie McHalffey on January 23, 1943 in Caraway, Arkansas. L.C. and his wife, Peggy, were members at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country during the Vietnam War. L.C. was an avid hunter and loved training and hunting with his Beagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, running his beagles, and being outdoors. In addition to his parents, L.C. is preceded by his grandson, Landon Stotts; and daughter-in-law, Paula McHalffey.
L.C. is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy McHalffey; sons, Roger McHalffey (Tammy) and Jackie McHalffey; daughters, Angela Stotts (Rodney), Kristy Burchell (Tim), and Deedra McHalffey (Stanley Borecky); siblings, Clovis McHalffey (Dianne), Katherine Martin, and Kay Strait (Donald); 15 grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. L.C. also leaves behind a host of other family, friends, and his faithful K-9 companion, his baby girl, Lolli.
The visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 .
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home with Elvis Brandon and Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Jaron Jones, Cody McHalffey, Jeremy McHalffey, Kevin Smallman, Matthew Whitlock, and Josh Halpain.
