Lawrence Edward Jones

Lawrence Edward Jones, 81 of Jonesboro, died of natural causes, Friday June 10, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

He was preceded in death by Wilma Lucille Jones and Louise Dudley Jones. He is survived by his children; Connie Scott, Danny Jones, Doug Jones (Lois Ann), Robert Jones (Rhonda), and Jamie Jones (Tammy), all of Jonesboro. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was a lifetime resident of Jonesboro where he attended Nettleton Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, as well as gardening and fishing. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He retired from Hytrol Conveyor Company in 1998 after nearly 30 years of dedicated service.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Jones, Michael Jones, Chris Jones, Nathan Russell, Josh McGinnis and John McGinnis. Honorary pallbearers will be Julie Jones, Amber Carvell, April West, Denishia Buchanan, and Keith Jones.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 5-7 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Services will be Monday, June 13th at 10:00 AM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Marty Russell and Rev. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.
