Lavona Hansen, 84, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.  She had lived in Jonesboro since, 1961, moving here from Santa Monica, California.  She was a member of the East Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witness.  Lavona had been a full-time minister for 44 years.  She was a volunteer for the Kingdom Hall Construction Team. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hansen, her parents and her daughter-in-law.

Survivors include her son, Rick Hansen; daughter, Sherrie Owens (Dudley); of Jonesboro; sisters, Nadine Conley of Newton, Massachusetts; Lee Fergeson of Port Orchard, Washington; two grandchildren, Ryan Hansen and Brianna Anderson; one great grandchild, Zoey Anderson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Ronnie Floyd officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery with Chris Simmons, Fred Allen, Dudley Owens, Ryan Hansen, David Richardson and Nick Anderson serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will from 9:00 AM, Saturday, until service time.  To sign an online guest book, go to emersonfuneralhome.com.
