Lavon Wells

Lavon Wells passed away on April 11, 2012 at his home. He was born on February 15, 1940 to Jimmy and Josie Wells in Duck Hill, Mississippi.

He graduated from Greene County Tech High School in 1958 and graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in Agriculture. While at ASU, he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and remained an active member of the Beta Psi TKE Alumni Association until his death. He worked for the TKE organization after graduation advising new chapters.

Lavon was an avid Red Wolf fan and supporter, holding memberships in the Red Wolf Club, Touchdown Club, Fast Break Club, and the Sixth Man Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jimmie Nell Gregory; and brothers, R.L. Wells and Ervin wells.

Lavon is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Ellen Wells; sister, Erma Lou (Burl) Lucius of Bullard, Texas; brothers, Linwood (Betty) Wells of Paragould; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Emerson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time Sunday at Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Beta Psi TKE Alumni members.
