Laverne Deatherage

Laverne Deatherage, 86, of Jonesboro, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at her home. She and her late husband, Tillman Deatherage moved to Jonesboro in 1963, moving here from Egypt and was of the Church of Christ belief. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Foster, Deborah Kingston, and one son, Charles Deatherage and wife Sherry, all of Jonesboro; four sisters, Alma Lee Vinson, Mardale Munn, Vada Mize all of Jonesboro and Mary Lee Schugg of Dixie, Arkansas; one brother, Bill Keith, Bono Arkansas; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Richard Akins officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with grandsons and Kenneth Wood serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from noon until service Thursday at Emersons.
