Laura Jane Emerson

Laura Jane Emerson, 83, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born in Jonesboro and had lived her entire life here. She was a member of Westvale Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Emerson, of the home; sons and daughters-in law, Randy & Rita Emerson, Charlie & Vickie Emerson, all of Jonesboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Paul Rogers, Jonesboro; a brother, Richard Gambill, Jonesboro; 2 sisters, Lundie Bridger, Viola Pratt, both of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Mandy Bari, Cody Emerson, Christopher Erwin, Casey Emerson, Wes Ferguson, Zach Kaja, Matt Kaja, J.P. Rogers, Lauren Rogers; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie & Lena Hillard Gambill; 3 brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Bill Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Wes Ferguson, Matt Kaja, Zach Kaja, Cody Emerson, Chuck Bari, and Greg Gambill.

Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
