Lars Rodely

Lars Ray-Aaron Rodely, 19 years old died unexpectedly on June 18, 2016 in his bed in Jonesboro, AR. Lars was born in St. Charles, MO to parents Sharon and David Rodely, brother; Daniel, and sister; Macey.

Lars was preceded in passing by his sister Samantha, and his grandparents Patsy and Eugene Rodely, of Du Quoin, IL. He is survived by Grandparents Beverly and Ceburn Mudford of Fouke, AR as well as his parents; Dave and Sharon, his brother Daniel and sister Macey.

Lars was a graduate of Jonesboro High School, where he received varsity letters in football and track. Lars started for the Hurricane as an Offensive Lineman and was a 2 year letterman for the 2013 and 2014 teams that advanced to the 6A State Semi-Finals in both years posting records of 8-5 his sophomore year and 9-3 his junior year. As a track athlete Lars qualified for the State Championship for JHS in the Discus. Lars was known to his friends and family to be quick witted, funny, very patient and kind. Lars was enrolled to attend Arkansas State University starting in the fall of 2016. Lars brought smiles to the faces of teachers, coaches, friends, teammates and family and we will never be the same because he demonstrated to us a servant’s heart. Lars was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro, and accepted Christ into his life March 29, 2006, and followed with baptism April 16, 2006, at Temple Baptist Church. Friends that knew Lars loved to hear him tell stories, and friends of the family loved to hear stories about Lars, because of his unique quips and ways of bringing levity to any situation. He was able to bring joy and smiles to people without even being present. Lars was fun to be around and it wasn’t difficult for Lars to be funny, it just came naturally because it was a gift from God, as was Lars.

Lars family mourns his loss, but wants to thank all the people who had a positive impact on Lars during the 19 years of his life. We love him and will miss him forever.

A celebration of Lars life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday June 24, 2016 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerry Jolly, Tim Hawkins and Trey Shearin officiating. Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. on Thursday June 23, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Gene Rodely, Roger Rodely, Jack Rodely, Don Mudford, Mike Godfrey and Daniel Rodely.
