Larry Fay Wortham entered into his heavenly home on August 24, 2026. He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on September 15, 1946 to Fay and Sallie Wortham.
Larry was a graduate from Cash High School, Class of 1964. He attended Arkansas State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1968. Larry devoted his life to farming. He remained active in farming throughout the years watching over family farms. In 1983 the tractors were parked and he became a Farm Bureau Agent in the Newport office until he later transferred to Jonesboro and remained until his retirement in January of 2015. Over the years his co-workers and clients became not only friends but part of the family. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Jonesboro.
Larry loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the fall when the fields were harvested and hunting season of any type opened. Larry was known for keeping one eye on the road and one eye on the ditch banks or in the fields looking for game.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sandra L. Wortham; his son Commander Donovan Brock Wortham (Paula), daughter Stacey A. Stockdale (Dr. Donovan Ritchie Stockdale), son R. Brett Wortham (Misty), grandsons Donovan R. Stockdale (Kassidy), and Grant P. Stockdale. He was preceded in death by his parents Fay and Sallie Wortham and granddaughter Olivia Wortham.
Visitation will take place at Emerson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Johnson Cemetery in Cash.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Lowell Tanksley, Barry Priest, Vance Morrison, Todd Petit, Greg Spurlock, Carl Looney, Brian Emenhiser, Lewis Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are the Farm Bureau Agents.
