Larry Michael Taylor, 52 of Jonesboro died Monday, November 21, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Jonesboro, he lived most of his life as a resident of Jonesboro. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He served as a deputy sheriff for the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department and a state trooper for the Arkansas State Police. He owned and operated Couch’s Barbeque of Paragould.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Taylor of the home; a daughter, Ashley Layne and a son-in-law, Chip Layne of Jonesboro; a step-son, Seth Elder of Jonesboro; three brothers Gaylon Taylor of Jonesboro, Bill Taylor of Monette; Ronnie Taylor of Paragould; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Whitlee Layne.
He was preceded in death by his parents O.A. Taylor, Jr. and Sue Taylor. Grandparents O.A. Taylor, Sr. and Vivian Taylor; and Frank Couch Sr. and Isadore Couch.
Pallbearers are Gaylon Taylor, Bill Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, Chip Layne, Seth Elder, Kenny Phillips, Jim Johnston, Lynn Scott, Dave Carter, and Floyd Stonecipher.
Honorary pall bearers are Matthew Taylor, Brooks Taylor, members of the Sure Shot Hunting Club, and employees of Couch's BBQ of Paragould.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Danny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland. Visitation will be from 12:30 to service time Friday afternoon at the Emerson Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro.
