Larry Rafe Mckinney

Larry Rafe McKinney, 81, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Monday, February 15, 2021 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born to the late Rafe and Ruby McKinney on January 27, 1940 in Paragould.  Larry attended Mass at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Jonesboro with his wife, Mary. He enjoyed Fox Hunting and watching Cardinals Baseball and Arkansas Razorback Football and Basketball. Larry’s grandchildren were a special part of his life. He always made sure to be a part of their lives and attend all of their events. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brother, Jackie McKinney; and sister, Willodean Bolar.

Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary McKinney of the home; sons, Wayne McKinney (Andrea)of Jonesboro and Stanis McKinney of Atlanta; daughters, Catherine McNabb (Tony)of Batesville and Anita McKinney of Blytheville; brothers, Dr. Dan McKinney (Linda) of Branson and Mike McKinney (Beverly) of Paragould; sisters, Ouida Draffon (Roy) of Paragould and Wanda Smith of Phoenix; grandchildren, Jackson McKinney (Erin), Alexandrea McNabb, Cole McKinney, Maggie McNabb, and Braden McKinney; brother in law, Bill Bolar; and sister’s in law, Theresa Oltmann (Keith) and Pat Harrell. Larry also leaves behind a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory.

The visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home.

There will be a graveside service held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Paragould with Heath Vines officiating. The pallbearers will be Jackson McKinney, Cole McKinney, Braden McKinney, Keith Oltmann, Tony McNabb, and Stacey Rice. The honorary pallbearers are Alexandrea McNabb and Maggie McNabb.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 East Matthews Avenue, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
