Larry Johnson

Larry Johnson 76, of Jonesboro passed from this life November 5, 2013 at the St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Larry was born here in Jonesboro to Bert D. Johnson and Louise Wood Johnson. He resided here in Jonesboro for the vast majority of his life. Larry was also of the Methodist belief. Larry was an avid card player and loved the game of poker. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Jonesboro Elks Lodge, a graduate of North Texas State University with bachelor’s degrees in business and Psychology. Spending time with grandchildren was also a very important part of Larry’s life. Larry and Bessie also enjoyed spending time traveling in their RV.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild: Ben Lancaster.

Surviving relatives include Bessie, his wife of many years. One son: Mark Johnson (Debbie) of Albuquerque, NM; Two daughters: Kathy Lancaster (Greg) of Idaho Falls, ID and Sherry Vaughn (Brian) of Dallas, TX; One brother: Sid Johnson (Toni) of Jonesboro; Six grandchildren: Chris and Davis Vaughn, Alex and Andy Lancaster, Laura and Steven Johnson and his beloved companion, Corky.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 P.M Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Emerson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be 1-2 P.M Saturday, November 9, 2013 prior to the Memorial Service
