Larry James Hall

January 15, 1942 — November 21, 2020

Larry James Hall, 78 of Bay, passed from this life Saturday, 21, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born January 15, 1942 to Jeter and Louise Lackey Hall in Lake City.  Larry worked in the metal industry as a recycling center manager and was a member of the 1 st Baptist Church in Bay. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Green Beret Special Forces during the Vietnam War.  Larry is noted for the founding and for being caretaker of the Bay Veterans Park.  He was a city council member for over 40 years and a member of the Municipal League for 39 years.  Larry was a caregiver for his wife, Alice for 32 years and he was a 5 time cancer survivor.  He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Dale and Robert Hall and sister, Vera Ray.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Alice of the home; 1 daughter, Roxann (Jimmy) Griffin of Jonesboro; brother, Russell (Nancy) Hall; sister, Patricia (Gary) Dailey of Chesapeake, Virginia; 2 grandchildren, Tyler Quinn Griffin and Devin Zayne Griffin.

Visitation will be Monday, November 23, 2020 from 12-2 PM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with service starting at 2:00 PM.  Danny Taylor will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Terry Hall, Brian Weems, Daryl Kirby, Paul Keith, Larry Rawls, Rick Freeman.
