Larry Edward George, 81, of Lafe, and formerly of Jonesboro, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born in Neosho, Missouri, on February 8, 1943, to the late Doc and Juanita George, Larry spent most of his life in Jonesboro before moving to Lafe in the last year.

Larry was of the Christian faith and had a deep passion for the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also had a lifelong love of horses, dedicating over 50 years as a horse trainer. Larry enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Myrtle Ramsey; and his brother, Jimmy Speakman.

Larry leaves behind a loving family, including his two sons, Shane (Madison) George of Lafe and Casey George of Harrisburg; his daughter, Nikki Lee of Mount Ida; four grandchildren, Oliver George, Preston Watlington, Megan Peevey, and Caroline Peevey; and two great-grandchildren, Peyton Brueck and Carter Brueck.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
