Larry Joe Fugate

Larry Joe Fugate, 69, of White Hall, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He had lived in White Hall for ten years, moving there from Jonesboro. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Larry was a long-time active member of the Exchange Club in Jonesboro, and the Rotary Club in Pine Bluff. Larry spent more than 50 years in the journalism profession as a reporter and editor. He was an advocate for the Freedom of Information Act. He enjoyed working with the Royal Ambassadors through his church ministry.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Martha Fugate, of the home; daughter, Kayla Sherlin of White Hall; brother, Stanley Blosser of Las Vegas; sister, Sue Rever of Meeteetse, Wyoming and granddaughter, Madison Sherlin.

A memorial service will be 11:00, Monday, March 9, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro, with Arliss Dickerson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time on Monday. Burial will be private.
