Larry Dale Hurt

October 8, 1948 — January 22, 2007

Larry Dale Hurt, 58, of Jonesboro, died Monday morning at his home of natural causes.

A native of Harrisburg, Larry lived most of his life in the Jonesboro-Harrisburg area. He served as Poinsett County Chief Jailer before becoming disabled, and was a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church. He served 7 years active duty in the U.S. Army.

Larry was a 32nd degree mason in the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge, was a Shriner and a member of the New York Rite and Scottish Rite. He had 2 “best friends”: “Pester” the cat, and “Shop Dog.”

Survivors include:
His wife: Cindi Parker Hurt of the home;

2 sons and their wives: Jason and Lee Hurt, serving with the Air Force in Iraq, and
Aaron and Amber Eastworth of Benton;

1 daughter and her husband: Carolyn and Wayne Adcock of Little Rock;

His father and mother: Willie and Marie Hurt of Jonesboro;

1 brother and his wife: Wayne and Phyllis Hurt of Trumann;

1 sister and her husband: Vickie and Gary Henry of Jonesboro;

2 brothers-in-law: Mike Brown and Kenneth Brown, both of Fort Smith;

1 sister-in-law and her husband: Elaine and Tony Shaw of Fort Smith;

6 Grandchildren: Matt Adcock, Kymber Hurt, Amber Hurt, Chase Hurt,
Colten Eastworth, and Meagan Eastworth; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Gary Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers include: Chad Fite, Kelly Henry, Steve Hurt, James Meredith,
Kevin Byron and Milton Platt.
Honorary pallbearers include: Wayne Adcock, Kenneth Brown, Gary Henry,
Tony Shaw, James Baggett, and Jerry Hughes.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
