Larry D. Heath, 55, of Bay, died Sunday at his home of natural causes.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mr. Heath lived most of his life in the Jonesboro-Bay area. He was a Life Skills Trainer at the Jonesboro Human Development Center and was a member of the South Ridge General Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
Larry was a U.S. Army veteran, serving 13 years of active duty with 2 tours of Vietnam.
Survivors include:
His Parents: Bob and Flo Heath of Jonesboro;
2 Sons: Michael Dean Heath, and Bobby Dean Heath, both of Kileen, Texas;
2 Brothers: Robert Heath of LaPorte, Texas, and Jimbo Heath of Jonesboro;
2 Sisters: Sandra Hamby, and Angie Hillis, both of Jonesboro;
2 Grandchildren: Michael Dean Heath, II, and Christian Heath, both of Kileen;
4 Nieces, 5 Nephews, 2 Great Nieces, and 3 Great Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Darrell Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers include: Forrest Steele, Bobby Warren, Bob Partain, Walter Towne, Maurice Oliver and Donnie Hatcher.
Honorary pallbearers include: Clarence Jeffery and Djuan Hollowell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 at Emerson Funeral Home.
On Tuesday, from 9-5 and prior to visitation, the family will gather at South Ridge General Baptist Church, 3301 Colony Drive, to receive friends.
