Larry Burnell Dillon, 47, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at his home of natural causes.
Born in Chicago, Larry lived several years in New Orleans before moving to Jonesboro in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina forced his evacuation. Larry worked several years as a New Orleans restaurant professional and was a graduate of Delgado Community College in New Orleans.
When most evacuees returned to Louisiana, Larry chose to stay in Jonesboro. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jonesboro and a private medical caregiver.
Survivors include his parents, Archie and Queen Esther Dillon of Chicago;
2 sons: Larry Dillon, Jr. and Jeremiah Dillon, both of Birmingham;
2 daughters: Latasha Dillon and Larriyana Dillon, both of Birmingham;
2 brothers: Eric Dillon of Chicago, and Kevin Dillon of Houston, Texas; and
2 sisters: Wandajune Batton of Phoenix, and Lenora Taylor of Houston.
A memorial service will be held Friday morning, June 5, 2009, at 11:00 at First Presbyterian Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Guy Delaney officiating.
Visitation will follow the memorial service in the church parlor.
