Larry Estle Brannen, 71, of Jonesboro peacefully passed away on July 10, 2023, at his home. Born on October 2, 1951, to Estle Brannen and Winnie Geraline (Johnson) Brannen in Walnut Ridge.

Larry served as a chief engineer on a river boat for over 30 years. Following his riverboat career, he transitioned to become an operator at Plum Point Energy. Larry was an active member of the Bono Church of Christ. Larry loved spending his time watching westerns. However, Larry's greatest joy and source of pride were his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, relishing in their laughter, achievements, and milestones.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Justin Brannen.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of the home; his daughter, Lori Brannen of Paragould; brother, Steve (Frieda) Brannen of Jonesboro; sister, Paula Byard, also of Jonesboro; special care giver and brother-in-law Dwight Joplin; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Marvin) Nesbit of Doniphan, MO, and Frieda (George) Johnson of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Weston Brannen of Jonesboro, Jillian Clark of Cave City, and Kasen Williams of Brookland.

The family will receive guests at their home from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The address is 6109 Friendly Hope Cove, Jonesboro, AR, 72404.
