Larry G. Box

Larry G. Box, 58, of Brookland died Thursday at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman. His passions, besides his family, were hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved driving the country roads looking for wildlife, and he could spot a deer a mile away.

Birthdays and Christmas were very special to him. He loved watching his great-nieces and nephews open their gifts. He was such a big kid at heart and loved by everyone he met. Larry will be greatly missed, not only by his family, but also by all his friends.

John 15:13: Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, P.W. Box.

Survivors are his daughter, Autumn (Brent) Farless of Jonesboro; mother, Naomi Box of Brookland; brother, Gary (Pat) Box of Liverpool, N.Y.; sister, Susan Cornish of Brookland; granddaughter, Londyn Hughes; grandson, Logan Farless; nephews, Wes (Lori) Cornish of Monette, Ryan (Wendy) Cornish of Paragould and Adam Cornish of Brookland; nieces, Tara Box of Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Tricia Davis of Greenville, N.C.; great-nephews, Hayden Preston, Wyatt Cornish, Judd Cornish; great-nieces, Morgan Preston and Olivia Cornish; and foster sister, Linda Sitzer.

Pallbearers are Bob Staggs, Jerry Easley, Bruce Nelms, Donnie Nall, Kenny Scott and Rickie Grissom.

Honorary pallbearers are Elberta Hudson, JoAnn Martin, Donald and Bertha Mink, Bill Thompson, Gary Kifer, Terry Miles, Tommy Sitzer, Dennis and Dottie Pratt, Luke and Myria Harmon, the men from Old Carter Camp and ICU nurses and Dr. Hubbard at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today. Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pine Log United Methodist with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
