Lana Lois Wilson

March 5, 1942 — September 2, 2017

Lana Lois Wilson, 75, of Bay, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017, at her home.

Born in Morrilton, Lana lived many years in Walnut Ridge and Swifton before moving to Bay four years ago. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and was a high school English teacher. Lana taught at Pocahontas High School, Walnut Ridge High School and retired from Corning High School.

Lana was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed tennis, and watching the St. Louis baseball Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks. She also enjoyed her canine companions: Copper, Penny and Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Rebecca Wilson and her devoted companion, Mike Hulen.

Lana is survived by her children and their spouses: Tol and Rhonda Wilson of Bono, Gaye and Eddie Oates of Hot Springs Village and Bo Wilson and his fiance Angie Cottingham of Bay;
Other survivors include 2 sisters Loretta Merritt of Searcy and Patsy Murphy of Virginia;
1 brother, Laman Hale of North Little Rock;
6 grandchildren and their spouses: Josh Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Keashia and husband J.D. Guthrie, Jordan and wife Jerrika Johnson, Jarrod Wilson, Jahren and husband Will Causey; and
7 great grandchildren: Shaelie, Dyslenn, Aubrey, Jax, Jep, Hudson and Maverick. Also surviving are extended family who Lana was especially close to: Angie's brother Thomas Carter, Jr. of Tyronza, sisters Sandy Gann of Hardy and Sherry Long of Jonesboro and daughter Tina Birdwell of Jonesboro and grandchildren: Tatum and Hunter.

At Lana's request, all services and burial will be private. There will be no visitation.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the Corning High School College Scholarship Program with emphasis given to students based on need, 500 Bobcat Lane, Corning, AR 72422.
