Ladye Gertrude (Barlow) Copenhaver, 96, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Born in Little Rock, to Joseph Cantrell Barlow and Donna Slaughter Barlow, Ladye was the youngest of five children born to the couple. Following her father's death in Helena, the family relocated to Washington, D.C. where she would eventually meet and later marry Harold Copenhaver of Girard, Kansas.
Ladye was a loving wife and mother to four children: Nancy Copenhaver Gingrich (Jim), Sharon Copenhaver, Lanita Jo Copenhaver and Harold R. Copenhaver (Kathleen). She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Harold and one daughter, Lanita.
Survivors include eight grandchildren and spouses: Wendy and Bill Mueller, Marshall and Sheila Gingrich, Paige and Travis Davenport, Julie Steed, Nathan and Stephanie Irsch, Lauren and Michael Nunnally, Austin and Hannah Beth Copenhaver, Myles Copenhaver and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 19, 2019, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services in Jonesboro Memorial Park with Pastor Tad Rogers and Pastor Don Martin officiating will immediately follow the visitation.
Pallbearers include: Marshall Gingrich, Nathan Irsch, Austin Copenhaver, Myles Copenhaver, Michael Nunnally and Will Miller.
Mrs. Copenhaver was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and the Arkansas Federation of Porcelain Artists. She was a talented china painter, a creative cook and a patron of the arts.
For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to Cornerstone United Methodist Church, Jonesboro, Flo and Phil Jones Hospice, Jonesboro and the Alzheimer's Association.
