Kyler Strait

Chastin “Kyler” Strait, 24, of Brookland passed from this life on Saturday, October 12, 2019. He was born to Brannon and Dana Strait on November 21, 1994 in Jonesboro. Kyler was a 2013 graduate of Brookland High School and also a member of Shepherd’s Heart Church in Jonesboro. The outdoors held a special place in Kyler’s heart, especially hiking. Whether he was hunting and fishing or just taking photos Kyler was in his element. Kyler was also a gun and car enthusiast having owned several mustangs. He was a patriotic young man having intentions of joining the Jonesboro Fire Department and serving his community. Kyler is preceded in death by his grandfather, Terry Murphy.

Kyler is survived by his parents, Brannon and Dana Robinson Strait; brother, Rhett Strait; sister, Macy Strait; great-grandparents C.L. Robinson and Yvonne Clark, grandparents, Judy Murphy, James and Carolyn Strait, and Tony and Jane Robinson; uncles, Caleb Strait (Adrienne) and Chris Murphy (Jennifer); and aunts, Tanya McKenzie (Rick) and Gwen Pitts (Ben). Kyler also leaves behind many other family, friends, and his k-9 companion, Koffee.

The visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. this Saturday, October 19th at Shepherd’s Heart Church located at 3226 Highway 351, Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Kyler's grandfather, James Strait. Burial will take place at Pine Log Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Rick McKenzie, Caleb Strait, Brock Strait, Rhett Strait, Sam Strait, Jordan McKenzie, Colton Turner, and Jordan Greenway.
