Kyle Wayne Shipman

Kyle Wayne Shipman, 27, of Jonesboro, died Saturday evening from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident near Marked Tree.

Kyle was born in Jonesboro and lived most of his life here. He was a 2003 graduate of Jonesboro High School and attended Arkansas State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving overseas as a Ranger in Special Operations.

Kyle was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. He had an American Bulldog named “Turbo” which was given to Kyle by Pets for Vets a program of the Veterans Administration. He was preceded in death by a cousin, Ulysses Rudd, and by his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Rudd, who was buried last week.

Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Darlene Rudd Shipman of the home;

1 sister, Mashae Shipman of Jonesboro;

Maternal grandfather, A.D. Rudd of Newport Airbase;

Paternal grandparents: Chester and Pansy Shipman of Jonesboro;

Aunts and uncles: Terry and Becky Shipman and Charles and Karen Griffin all of Jonesboro; Ronny Rudd of Newport Base and Roger and Suzanne Rudd of Newport; and

Cousins: Melissa McDaniel, McKenzie Griffin, Terry Shipman, Jr. and Jake Shipman all of Jonesboro, and Tristan Rudd and Dylan Rudd, both of Newport.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Lou Butterfield officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Clark Cemetery near Uno.

Active pallbearers include: Fred Hargett, III, Billy Clark, Kyle Schuchardt, Blake Cullum, Canton Ford, Kyle Edmonds, Jeremy Cole and Thomas McIntosh.

Honorary pallbearers include: Drew Duncan, Adrian Threadgill and Skip Mooney, Jr.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
