Kon F. Smithee, 84, of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 15, 1937 in Strawberry to the late Ray and Lida Watson Smithee. Kon was of the Church of Christ belief. He was a member of the Paragould Country Club. Kon was an avid golfer, card player, reader of the Jonesboro Sun and True Story magazine. He was a cowboy and he was known statewide for his skills operating a backhoe.
In addition to his parents, Kon was preceded in death by his son, Allan Smithee; brothers, Kenneth Smithee, Herschel Smithee and sisters, Oretha Wilson and Asbrene Milligan.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Victoria “Vickie” Davis Martin Smithee of the home; daughter, LA-Konya (Rick) Kitchen of Jonesboro; step-son, Rob (Dana) Martin of Jonesboro; step-daughter, Lori (David) Hodge of Marion; brother, Harold Gene Smithee of Cave City; 9 grandchildren: Jonathan (Tracy) Smithee, Clint Smithee, Alex (Kennedy Respalie) Kitchen, Konner Kitchen, Lilly Kitchen, Lauren Kitchen, Sheradin (Vaden Palmer) Martin, Emalee Gillean, Izzie Hodge and 2 great grandchildren, Zoey Smithee, Dean Kitchen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be private with J.R. Lamberth officiating.
