Kevin Dwight Jumper

Kevin Dwight Jumper, 42, of Jonesboro passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2015 at St. Bernards Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

Kevin was born on February 11, 1973 in Jonesboro, and was a 1991 graduate of Jonesboro High School. He was selected to attend Boys State sponsored by the American Legion, and after high school he attended Lyon College where he earned his degree in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism, and a minor in Psychology. While attending Lyon College he served as Class President and Newspaper editor his senior year, and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After college he moved to Atlanta GA, Nashville TN, Charlotte, NC, back to Atlanta, GA before moving back to his home town of Jonesboro. Kevin was a loving person that had an infectious positive outlook on life, and his kind soul and sweet smile will be missed but never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dossie Andrews; paternal grandparents, Vaughnie and Mable Jumper.

He is survived by his father, Marvin Jumper and his wife Fay; mother, Glenda Dobson and her husband, Bob all of Jonesboro; one brother, Darin Jumper and his wife, DeShawn of Trumann; maternal grandmother, Hazel Andrews of Brookland; three step siblings Kristy Lenoir and Todd Dobson both of Chattanooga, TN, and John Martin of Summerville, SC; several nieces and nephews, and one special nephew, Drake Jumper of Trumann; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be at 2pm Thursday at St. Timothy Anglican Church with Father Ron Martin and Dr. Glen Putman officiating. Interment will directly follow at Old Bethel Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

The church will be hosting a reception at the church on Thursday from 12:30 until service time.
