Kermit G. Ackerman, 97, of Trumann, died Tuesday October 25, 2011, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
  
  
  Kermit was born on March 18, 1914 in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Alvin and Bessie Ackerman. He was a Pharmacy First Mate for the US Navy. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served at Iwo Jima. He spent his whole career as a Pharmacist, where he was self-employed.
  
  
  In addition to his parents, Alvin and Bessie Ackerman he was preceded in death by, three brothers and one sister.
  
  
  Survivors include his wife, Edith Speakman Ackerman of Trumann; one daughter, Ruth Ann Ackerman of Warren, Michigan; one son, Wayne Speakman of Florida; one brother, Jerry Ackerman of Florida; a sister, Dorothy Richards of Michigan; one granddaughter, Diane Gryka and one grandson, Todd Campbell both of Michigan; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
  
  
  Graveside services will be Friday, October 28, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Nettleton Cemetery with Rev. John Booker officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
  
  
  Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2011 at Emerson Funeral from 12-130pm.
  
  
  Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jerry Speakman, Thomas Climer, Todd Campbell, Larry Mason, Eric Speakman, and Gary Bidigare.
