Kenny Weathers, 58, a lifelong resident of Caraway, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.  He was of the Christian belief.  Kenny was community and people oriented.  He lived to serve his family, friends, and the community he grew up in.  He was the organizer of the Buffalo Island Angel Fund, Caraway’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt in 1995, and Caraway’s First Fishing Derby in 1997.  KE5RHX was his ham operator call sign, where he had just received his general certification.  He was a previous member of the Caraway Masonic Lodge, Junior Jaycees, Riverside School Board, Caraway City Council, Caraway Lions Club, Caraway Volunteer Ambulance Service and a volunteer for the Fire Department, Civil Defense Director for Caraway, member of the Riverside Ducks Unlimited, a First Responder at Hytrol Conveyor Company and an Advanced Skywarn Spotter.  He was past president of the Lion’s Club, and on the board of directors for the Volunteer Ambulance Service, and past chairman for the Caraway Park Commission.  In 2001 Kenny was Caraway’s Man of the Year for his volunteer work.  He was preceded in death by his father, Shelba Weathers and one brother, Roger Dale Weathers.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Barbara Tidwell Weathers of the home; sons, Cody Weathers (Amanda); Caleb Weathers (Megan); mother, Modean Weathers, all of Caraway: grandchildren, McKinlee Erin Weathers, Hannah Shinall and John Marcus Shinall.

Funeral services will be 10:00 Wednesday morning, December 6, 2017 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Kenny Qualls officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will follow at the Caraway Cemetery with Clayton Miller, Kris Kelton, Josh Hawkins, Garrett Qualls, Dan Dunkerson, Kolton Puckett and Gary Smith serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Rudy Anderson, Dairrl Anderson, Tobe Brewer, Timmy Brickell, Danny Dunigan, Melton Emery, Wade Fleming, Hunter Miller, Kyle Murphy-Nall, Dan Sullivan, Rodney Jackson, Woody Priest, Leland Dowless, Harvey Edward Faulkner, Justin Faulkner, Ronnie Hurst, the Caraway Class of 1978 and Hobo his faithful companion. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Tuesday night at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
