Kenneth B. Phillips, 85, of Jonesboro was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017.

He was born in Arbyrd, MO to the late John and Alma Phillips. Kenneth loved farming and developing property in both Missouri and Arkansas. He was a faithful member and deacon of Silverdale Baptist Church and later became a member of High-land Drive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat Phillips, and his two sons, John (Theresa) Phillips and David (Sharon) Phillips. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle and Jonathan. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Evelyn Lacey and J. O. Phillips.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, Dec. 27 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Bro. Johnny Hutchison officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. A private internment will follow.

Honorary pallbearers include Gary Prince, Bobby Wells, Daniel Loftin, Jim Burgess, Mike DeVault and Don Masters.

The family wishes to express deep appreciation to Mrs. Lessie Shepard for the excellent care given to Kenneth.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made to the Christian ministry of your choice.
