Kenneth “Kenny” Politte, 67, of Walnut Ridge, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois. He was retired from the timber and lumber business and was co-owner and operator of the Trailors Flea Market in Sedgwick, Arkansas. Kenny’s hobbies were primarily buying and selling any and everything and was an avid bargain hunter and yard saler. He was preceded in death by Lillie and Earl Politte (parents) and two brothers, Robert Politte and Ronnie Politte.
Survivors are his wife, Retia Politte, of the home; daughters, Stephanie Orrick and husband, Paul; Angel Politte of Jonesboro; Michelle Pearce and husband Joseph of Sedgwick, Arkansas; son, Dewayne Orr and wife, Teresa of Boston, Massachusetts; 8 grandsons, 3 granddaughters; sisters, Hazel Pinson of Cadet, Missouri, Wilma Kernan and husband Patrick of Farmington, Missouri; Jan Gillam and husband, Harvey; Joan Boister and husband Tom all of Cadet; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Politte and Rachel Politte both of Cadet; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Sedgwick United Methodist Church with Herb Brubaker officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5-7 Tuesday night at the Sedgwick United Methodist Church.
