Ken Fields, 67, of Lake City passed from this life on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born to Arlie Boswell and Thelma Fields on January 21, 1949 in Manila, Arkansas. Ken was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army and served three tours during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of Gospel Chapel in Jonesboro and The Rock in Jonesboro. Ken enjoyed studying scripture, fishing, working out, and loved his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arlie Boswell and Thelma Fields.
Ken is survived by his wife, Barbara Dianne Fields of Lake City; sons, David Fields of Lake City and Kenny Lee Fields (Lanai) of Jonesboro; daughter, Sheena Bass-Nichols (Tom) of Trumann; brothers, Charlie Stevens of Phoenix, Arizona and Hap Boswell of Qulin, Missouri; grandchildren, Shiloh Fields, Summit Fields, Tristen Watkins, Kaley “Bug” Nichols, Azlyn Fields, and Josiah Fields.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Duane Catron and Bro. Jeff Watson officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Pine Log Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Chris DeArmond, Steven Attaway, Shannon Hanks, Duane Castron Sr., Caleb Foster, and David Fields. The honorary Pallbearers Jerry Kelley, John Brown, George Johnson, Eddie Vickers, James Dodd, Marsa Martin, Emmett Wheeler, William Jones, Napoleon Jackson, Tommy Thorne, Jason Kelley, and Samuel Mayberry.
The visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 on Wednesday at Emerson Funeral Home. In consideration of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Kenneth Fields Veterans Memorial Fund at Centennial Bank in Jonesboro.
