Kelley Richard Sims

May 15, 1963 — August 23, 2008

Kelley Richard Sims, 45, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, August 23, 2008. He lived most of his life in Jonesboro and was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and attended Central Baptist Church. Kelley was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and a member of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce. He was a coach for the Arkansas Sidewinders and a referee for high school football. He worked as a financial advisor for Wachovia Investments and was a proud member of the ASU Indian Club.

Kelley was preceded in death by his grandfather, W. Ervin Sims; Grandmother, M. Pauline Sims; and a step-grandmother, Rachel Sims.

Surviving is his wife of twenty-three years, Misti Sims, of the home; daughters Mackenzie Dey Sims and Bailee Mekelle Sims, both of the home; parents, Jerry and Maralyn Sims, Jonesboro; sisters, Karrie Sims Evans, Collierville, Tennessee; Kimberly Dawn Sims, Little Rock, Arkansas and Uncle Bill Sims, Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brothers Archie Mason, Tad Rogers, and Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating with burial to follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Bill Sims, Jeff Brecklein, Sid Banks, Rusty Roebuck, David Kerley, Dr. Ken Tonymon, Jeff West, Kevin Hodges, and Joe Evans. Honorary pallbearers are John Gay, Tim Fitzgerald, Pete Murphy, Jeff Green, Andy Peeler, Joe Clay Young, Lamar Spainhouer, Bill Harris, Scott Durham, Mark Row, and Adam Brown. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Tuesday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
