Kathy Allison West

Kathy Lee Allison West, 59, of Bono, passed from this life on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Jonesboro, Kathy was a 1981 graduate of Jonesboro High School and lived most of her life in Jonesboro before moving to Bono five years ago. She worked several years as a substitute teacher for Valley View and Jonesboro schools and attended New Harvest Fellowship in Brookland.

Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren doing arts and crafts including making bracelets for them. She also enjoyed coloring and painting,  She loved singing at church and also enjoyed playing the piano. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents: Howard and Mary Wright Allison; and two brothers, David Allison and William Richard "Rich" Allison.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Harold West of the home, married September 26, 1986;

one daughter and son-in-law: Cassandra and Christopher James of Bono;

two sisters and brother-in-law: Ina Allison, and Rebecca Allison-Johnson and husband Robert, all of Jonesboro;

three grandchildren: Caleb Hinds, Kaylee Hinds and Caroline Buckley;

six nephews and nieces and several great nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mark Huff officiating. Burial will follow in Pierce Cemetery south of Jonesboro.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers include Ernest Cullum, Steven James, Colton Allison, Jake Householder, Michael James and TJ James.  Honorary pallbearers include Christopher James, Benjamin Allison, Dan Shaw, L.M. Duncan, Greg Taylor, James Wright, Robert Johnson, and Joey Troutman.
