Kathy "Kat" Boland

Kathy “Kat” Boland, 80, of Jonesboro, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, December 22, 2023 while at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.  She was born on May 29, 1943, to Charles and Eunice Wallace in West Ridge, Arkansas.  She had lived in Jonesboro for 34 years, moving here from Lepanto. She was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church where she was very active in church activities.  On Sundays after church, her favorite place to eat was Sam’s.  She loved to take cruises and whenever possible, you could find her sailing to wonderful places.  Talking and visiting with friends and family was very important in her daily life.  To keep her busy around the house, her flowers and yard were always a place to work and find solace.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Mick Boland, of the home; son, Dewey Lee Barnes Jr. wife Juanice of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter, Lisa Hogan and husband, Delane of Jonesboro; brother, H.C. Wallace of Bee Branch, Arkansas; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; and one honorary son, Dale Case.

A memorial service will be 2:00 Friday, December 29, 2023, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Stan Ballard officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.  Burial will be private.
