Kathryn Jean Simpson

Kathryn Simpson, 75, of Jonesboro passed from this Earthly life to her Heavenly home Wednesday, April 10 at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and of Baptist belief. She was a wonderful wife, mom, aunt, and grandma. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her granddaughter who would sit with her for hours to listen to all the stories of days gone by. She could always put a smile on her granddaughters’ face when no one else could. Those moments will always be remembered and cherished by all of us.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.S. and Ruth “Johnnie” Shelton, her husband of 40 years, Floyd Simpson Sr., and a brother, J.D. Shelton.

She is survived by a son, Floyd Simpson, Jr., a daughter, Donna (Bryan) Owens, a brother, Bobby Shelton, a nephew Ronnie Shelton and her beloved granddaughter, Abigail (Abby) Owens.

Special thanks to Dr. Max Arroyo and CCU staff at St. Bernard’s and Emerson Ambulance Medics. Also Dr. Hubbard and Dr. Sifford and nurses and staff at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital especially Laura, Pebbles, Tammy, Media, Doug, Mel, Carey, Jamie, Robert, Mike, Alex, and Greenly. Each of you helped make the days and nights a little brighter for her and we will always remember you all those special moments.

A visitation will be from 1-2 pm Friday, April 12, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2pm Friday, April 12, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home with brother Jace Tubbs officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery.
