Karen "Shelly" White

January 21, 1964 — September 6, 2020

Karen “Shelly” White, 56, of Jonesboro died Sunday, September 6, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.  She had lived in Jonesboro since 1982, moving here from Cave City.  She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and a member of the Kevin Hodges Sunday School Class.  She graduated from Cave City High School in 1982 and attended Arkansas State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a masters in Exercise Physiology and a bachelor and master’s degree in Nursing.  Shelly worked for over 24 years at Riceland as an RN Practitioner.  She was adjunct faculty for ASU in the Nursing Program.  She also worked in Labor and Delivery at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by her parents Duane and Jeffie Anderson.

Survivors include her husband, Kenny White, of the home; daughters, Sydney White and Tamara White of Jonesboro; special family Jim and Andrea Smith and her beloved fur babies.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM. Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Allen Elkins officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Allen Ross, Kim McDaniel, Josh Guntharp, Jake Guntharp, Steve Green, Doug Foster, Jon Tacker, and Tim Swindle will be serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Allen Bounds, Rick Rorex, Mike Gray, Jon Patterson, Birdie Rogers and the Kevin Hodges Sunday School Class. Visitation will be from 5-7 Wednesday night at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
