Karan Ann Cooper-Payton, 64, of Jonesboro passed from this life Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born to Fred and Ethel Cooper in Trumann on January 10, 1957. Karan has lived in Jonesboro all of her life and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Karan was an avid fisher and loved spending time outdoors. She loved to travel and most of all Karan loved spending time with her family. Karan was a long tenured employee at St. Bernard’s Medical center for 38 years and was the owner/ operator of Small World Daycare.
In addition to her dad, Fred Cooper, Karan is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Cecil and Opal Dick; paternal grandparents, Ruth and George Cooper; father and mother in law, Ray and Mary Lou Payton; brother and sister in law, Don and Rene Payton.
Karan is survived by her mother, Ethel Cooper of Jonesboro; husband, Dennis Payton of 22 years; son, Chris (Samantha) Payton of Marmaduke; daughter, Nicole (Tom) Mclure of Cabot; my sweet baby brother, Jeff (Paula) Cooper of Jonesboro; sister, Fronda (Doug) Holmes of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Hayden Payton and Hudson Mclure; brother in law's, Larry (Kathleen) Payton, Mike (Charolette) Payton both of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bryce Holmes officiating. Nieces and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
