Kaleb Allen Cheshier, 39, of Jonesboro, passed away at home on Friday, November 17, 2017.
Kaleb, son, brother and uncle was born in Jonesboro and was a life-long resident of Northeast Arkansas. He graduated from Valley View High School in 1997 where he was a friend to many and decorated athlete. Kaleb was a member of the 1997 State Championship tennis team and teamed up to win the Overall State Doubles Championship. Kaleb was a gifted athlete who was named to three All-State Teams as a senior: basketball, tennis and golf. Kaleb was also a multi-year member of the Jonesboro Swim Team and represented Jonesboro in the Junior Olympics.
Following high school, Kaleb earned a tennis scholarship to Lyon College in Batesville. Later, Kaleb also attended Arkansas State University. Kaleb had many passions and interests including fishing, cooking and golf but, most of all, his family. He was a long-time member of Southwest Church of Christ and also attended Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro with his family in recent months. Kaleb worked as an instructor and served as a mentor for 2 1/2 years at John 3:16 Ministries in Independence County. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers: Buford Lawson and Ralph Cheshier.
Survivors include his parents: Sherris and Wayne Bond and Ralph and Denise Cheshier, all of Jonesboro;
His grandmothers: Christine Lawson and Doris Cheshier, both of Jonesboro;
3 sisters and their husbands: Tarah Tibbs of Jonesboro, Stephanie Bond and Devin Benton of Dallas and Makenzie and Tel Britton of Jonesboro;
2 nephews: Brayden Prestidge and Brodey Prestidge and
2 nieces: Landrie Tibbs and London Tibbs.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Aaron Harris, Doug Ferrell, Matt Noles, Ronnie Burnett, Brayden Prestidge, Brodey Prestidge, Tel Britton and Devin Benton. Honorary pallbearers include his mentors, instructors and many friends from John 3:16 Ministries.
Visitation will precede the funeral service Tuesday from 12 noon until service time.
