KW (Kelley) Webb, 85, of Jonesboro, passed away December 19, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Webb was born February 3, 1935 in the Willis Township near Trumann and spent most of his life in the Trumann area before moving to Jonesboro in 2006.
Webb graduated from McCormick High School in 1953. He served in the Arkansas National Guard for 3 years. He attended college at Arkansas State University receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, while working at the Singer Company in Trumann. Upon graduation he taught science at Trumann High School and later went to work for the US Department of Agriculture in New Orleans where he traveled 17 cotton states as a Warehouse Examiner. He moved back to Northeast Arkansas and enrolled at ASU to work on his Masters Degree in Education. While pursuing his Masters Degree, he served as Principal of Cedar Park Elementary School and Trumann Middle School.
Webb then attended the University of Arkansas School of Law. After graduation he returned to Northeast Arkansas where he practiced law in Trumann and Jonesboro for over 45 years before retiring.
While in Trumann he was a member of the Trumann Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He was a member of the ASU Alumni Board of Directors and served on the Poinsett county Democratic Central Committee. Webb served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1979 to 1984, in 2009 Webb received the Outstanding Volunteer Award for his pro bono work and in the same year was appointed Special Associate Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Webb was a member of Trumann First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kelley and Helen Webb of Trumann, two sisters, Loreda (Hammonds) of Trumann and Marilyn (McKay) of Litchfield, Illinois. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann (Collins) Webb of Jonesboro; two sons, Mark (Kathryn Webb and Michael (Amanda) Webb both of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, John Mark, Hayes, Mason, Morgan and Collins; brother Wendell of Rockford, Illinois and sister Loys (Teague) of Marion, Arkansas.
Graveside service will be 1:00 Tuesday, at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor John Maley officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. All other services will be private.
