Julius F. Hutcheson, 87, of Lake City, died August 21, 2012 at his home. He was born in Sharp County but had lived most of his life in the Lake City area. He was a farmer who did carpentry work and cabinet making during the off seasons. After his retirement from farming, Mr. Hutcheson became a full time carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a member of the Lake City Assembly of God Church where he had served as a deacon until his retirement. He was active with the Gideons for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Hutcheson of the home; sons, Donald (Brenda) Hutcheson and Jerry Hutcheson, all of Lake City; grandchildren, Stephanie (Keith) Timms, Jason (Jessica) Hutcheson, Nathan Hutcheson; great grandchildren, Hunter Timms, Collin Timms, Dillon Hutcheson, Savannah Hutcheson, Julie Hutcheson, Jasie Hutchison, Kaylie Hutcheson, Kaden Hutcheson, and one great grandchild soon to arrive; and his brother, Dillard Ratliff, Lake City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther & Thirsie Ratliff Hutcheson and his brother, Owen Hutcheson.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Nick Fletcher and Bro. Van Gilbert officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hutcheson’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 23, 2012 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
