Julia M. O'Connor

Julia M. O’Connor, 93 passed from this life Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at St. Bernards Medical Center.  She was born April 18, 1929 to Lon and Maggie Green Simmons in Alicia, Arkansas.  Julia had lived in Missouri and Indiana before coming to Arkansas in 1966 to Bono.  She attended Valley Ridge Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening and canning; reading and doing yardwork and working in her flower garden.  She also loved bird watching, but most of all Julia loved being with her family.  She is preceded in death by her husband, John O’Connor; son, Johnny O’Connor and daughter, Connie O’Connor; brothers, Herman Simmons, Thurman Simmons and sister, Lucy Mc Guffey.

Survivors include son, Donnie (Karen) O’Connor of Bono; daughters, Tonya Emery (Rick) of Jonesboro, Jeanette (Jody) Austin of Bono and Linda (Neil) Mann of Jonesboro; sister, Minnie (Chuck) Munsell of Portage, Indiana and niece, Donna (Dennis) Malone 18 grandchildren along with several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 9:00 A.M. at the Emerson Memorial Chapel.  Service will start at 10 A.M. with Bobby Floyd officiating.  Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Bono.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Billy Mallett, Caleb Mallett, Jim Eakes, Hunter Turner, Luca Strazzullo and Cody Rodgers.
