Judy L. Murry, 75, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Born on November 6, 1939, in Pelham, TN, Judy has made her home in Jonesboro for the last 60 years. She spent thirty-one years as a food service worker for the Jonesboro Public Schools, retiring in 2007.

A long time devoted member of Highland Drive Baptist Church, Judy especially enjoyed the Sunshine Ladies Sunday School Class. She also loved to exercise with friends at St. Bernard's Senior Life Center.
Judy was an avid sports fan who loved watching any sporting event. Her favorite teams were the Tennessee Volunteers and the Arkansas State Red Wolves. She especially loved watching her grandson play football and her granddaughter play volleyball.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Lamar Murry; parents, Robert and Lena Brannan; two brothers, Bernice Brannan and Johnny Brannan; and two sisters, Nell Turner and Jane Bonner.

Judy is survived by son Stacy Murry of the home and son and daughter-in-law Shea and LeAnn Murry of Benton, AR; one brother, Jimmy Brannan of Ripley, MS; two sisters, Willie Mae Long of Harmony, NC, and Nina Bynum of Hillsboro, TN; and two grandchildren, Jacob Murry and Anna Lee Murry of Benton, AR.

The service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Emerson Funeral Home with Dr. Johnny Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery. The active pallbearers will be Charles Gibson, Troy Sheets, Earl Wilson, Pat Massey, Bobby Gibson, Dale Taylor, Jonathan Wilson, and Jeff Gregory. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Highland Drive and Sunshine Ladies Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. tonight at Emerson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Building Fund of Highland Drive Baptist Church or The Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
