Judy Kay Hammett

Judy Kay Hammett, 58, of rural Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Lepanto, Judy lived most of her life in the Jonesboro area. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. Judy was very active in the life of her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, family get-togethers and cooking for her family and friends, but again, any activity that involved her grandchildren. Judy was a wonderful daughter, mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, daughter-in-law and friend.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Robertson; brother, David Cornwell, Jr.; and father-in-law, Huey Edward Hammett.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Hammett, Sr. of the home;
her mother, Ann Power (John) of Paragould;
1 daughter, Michelle Hammett Craig (Justin) of Bono;
2 sons: Ron Hammett, Jr. (Mandy) of Brookland and Terry Hammett (Jodi) of Hoxie;
2 sisters: Linda Harris (Marty) of Hoxie and Sheila Blain (Donny) of Jonesboro;
her mother-in-law, Vera Hammett of Jonesboro; and
7 grandchildren: Kaitlyn Hammett, Keirstin Hammett, Ethan Edward Loyd, Cade Hammett, Rylan Hammett, Chloe Craig and Kennedy Hammett, and an 8th grandchild expected in May.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Rick Hathcoat officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Harold Martin, David Hammett, Randy Hammett, Dennis Hammett, Allen Carpenter and Robert Higgins. Honorary pallbearers include Marty Harris, Donny Blain and Mark Pollard.

Visitation will be Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time in Emerson Chapel.
