Juanita R. Bryant, 75, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday afternoon surrounded by her family. She had lived most of her life in Jonesboro and attended Herman Baptist Church. Ms. Bryant was retired from the Jonesboro Human Development Center where she cooked for the residents. She loved yard work, raising her kids, and eating fish and ice cream.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Bryant, her parents, Howard & Ruth Simmons Priest, and a brother, Leon Priest.
Ms. Bryant is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rex & Michele Bryant, Pensacola, Florida; Michael & Lisa Bryant, Jonesboro; Anthony & Brenda Bryant, Jonesboro; Tommy & Deborah Bryant, Atlanta, Georgia; and by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna & DeeDee Smith, Brookhaven, Mississippi; Karen & Mike Watson, Brookland. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, George Priest, Jonesboro; James Priest, Cash; Mary Ashford, Granite City, Illinois; Helen Pate, Cash, and by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Glen Hurst officiating. Burial will be at Gibson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Rex Bryant; Michael Bryant; Anthony Bryant; Tommy Bryant; Lt. Cmdr. Chris Bryant and DeeDee Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Haggenmacher; Phillip Priest; Josh Bryant; Jared Bryant; Jeremy Johns and Ben Johns.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
