Joyce P. Fegtly

Joyce P. Fegtly, 83, of Jonesboro, died Saturday evening at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joyce was born in San Francisco Bay Area of California where she met and married her husband, Jack Fegtly. She has lived in Jonesboro since 1971.

Joyce was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She dedicated many years of service to the American Red Cross and was a long time member of the St. Bernards Ladies Auxiliary, volunteering her services primarily in the gift shop.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, William Kaiser and Mildred Shannon Bonds, her loving husband of 49 years, John C. "Jack" Fegtly, one brother, William Kaiser, and a sister, Dolores Thoman.

Survivors include:
1 daughter, Stacy (Donnie) Belew of Mayflower;
3 sons: Don (Debra) Fegtly of Franklin, Tennessee, Bob (Karman) Fegtly of Little Rock, and Rich (Angie) Fegtly of Jonesboro;

9 grandchildren: Jon Fegtly, Justin (Lyndsay) Fegtly, Austin French, Mallory French, Rachel (Danie) Swanepoel, Hunter Fegtly, Chandler Belew, Grace Fegtly and Abby Fegtly; and

1 great grandchild, Kaylie Fegtly.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kerry Gandy officiating. A private entombment will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or St. Bernards Medical Center Foundation.
