Joyce Marie Ashlock Milam

Joyce “Marie” Ashlock Milam, 76 of Swartz Creek, Michigan, formerly of Bay, died Friday, February 22, 2013. Marie was born in Minturn, Arkansas on July 3, 1936 to James and Jesse Taylor Ashlock. She was a member of the church of Christ and attended the County Line church of Christ while living in Bay. Marie loved doing crafts and taking care of her grandchildren.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Derrick and Christopher Losey; brothers, Troy and Willard Ashlock; sisters, Zona Mae Johnson and Ella Butts; and daughter-in-law Becky Milam.

She is survived by sons; David (Kristy) Milam of Bay; Donald Milam of Swartz Creek, Michigan; daughter, Janice Crittendon of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; brothers; Andrew Ashlock, and David (Sue) Ashlock of Jonesboro; sister, Mary Roland of Flint, Michigan; 6 grandchildren, Rick Losey, Aron and Michael Crittendon, Keith, Kelly and Logan Milam; 6 great grandchildren, Christopher Dunning, Dustin Utley, Catie Losey, Knox Milam, Lilly Crittendon, and CJ Crittendon; and two step-grandchildren, Devon and Dalton Hisaw.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Allen Ashlock officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
