Joyce L. Massey

Joyce L. Massey, 83, of Jonesboro died Thursday August 8, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born in Batesville, Arkansas on October 12, 1929 to David Thomas and Regina Louise Joyce Benton. Joyce had lived in Jonesboro since 1955, moving here from Blytheville. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church where she was very active in the church work.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; Gid Massey, sisters; Regina Deatherage and Elouise Tipton, Brother; Wayne Benton.

Survived by her sons; Pat Massey and wife Lana of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Ward Massey and wife Sandra of Newport, Arkansas.

Brother; E.T. (Jack) Benton of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Niece; Hazel Laverne (Cissie) Allen of Gassville, Arkansas.
Nephew; Dale Tipton of Cotter, Arkansas.

Grandchildren; Reese Massey, Brittany McKelroy, Ryan Massey and Aaron Massey.

Great Grandchildren; Trent Massey, Riley Massey, Sutton Massey, Aniston Massey, Maybelle Massey, Maggie McKelroy and Ava McKelory.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 10, at Emerson Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Tipton officiating.

Entombment will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time on Saturday August 10, at Emerson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan Massey, Aaron Massey, Reese Massey, Jeremy McKelroy, Mark Taylor and Brian Clem.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Cornerstone Pathfinder Sunday School Class and the Pat Dickson Group of United Methodist Women.
