JOY DENEEN COBB HAGAR, age 50 of Jonesboro…died Thursday morning at her home. Joy as she is known by her close friends was born in Jonesboro, May 3, 1960, to her parents, Max and June Cobb. Raised most of her life in Lake City, she graduated at Jonesboro High School, with later attending Arkansas State University, majoring in Pre-med. Her love of fashion moved her to Dallas where she was a model for the Kim Dawson Agency, and ultimately becoming an owner of the John Robert Powers School of Modeling and Agency in Ft. Worth, Texas. Returning to Jonesboro, Joy enjoyed her life devoting her love and support to her beautiful children and grandchildren.
Joy is survived by her son, Troy Prior of Jonesboro; daughters Kimberly Nearns of Okinawa, Japan; Claire Endicott of the home; partner Kim Palmer, also of the home; and her amazing grandchildren; Gigi, Polly, Max, Shelby, and Zoey. Also surving Joy is her brothers Garry Cobb of Jonesboro; Tim Cobb of Hurricane Mills, TN; her two aunts, Marcene Timms of Lake City; LaQuita Tidwell of Long Beach, CA.; and an uncle, Roland Smith of Florida, along with numerous extended family and wonderful close friends.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Max and June Cobb; a brother, Charles Cobb; her paternal grandparents, Troy and Iva Cobb; and her maternal grandparents, Ruby and Gladys Smith.
The blessing to all she has left is knowing that Joy loved living her life to the fullest and always putting those she loved first in her life. The comfort is knowing she is still in our hearts and minds each day, still looking down to always watch over all of us. We will miss you so….
Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 – 2:30 PM at Emerson Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Jolly officiating.
