Joshua "Josh" Tyler Proffitt

Joshua “Josh” Tyler Proffitt, 38, a lifetime resident of Tuckerman, died Monday, September 1, 2026. He was born in Newport, Arkansas, to Rickey Proffitt and A. J. Emery Proffitt on February 16, 1989. He was of the Baptist belief. Josh loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, and exploring. When it came to listening to music, he enjoyed all types and genres. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Survivors include his father, Rickey Proffitt of Tuckerman; mother, A. J. Proffitt of Newport; sister, Sarah Proffitt of Tuckerman; Crystal Proffitt; Carrie Proffitt and Brandy Proffitt all of South Carolina; brother, Robert Emery of Florida; and nephew, Layton Emery of Florida.
