Joseph Louis Emerson

Joseph Louis Emerson, 86, of Jonesboro passed from this life Tuesday at St. Bernards Medical Center. Louis was born in Jonesboro to Maxie and Nora Bell Williams Emerson April 1, 1928. He had been a carpenter for St. Bernards Medical Center and was a member of First Baptist Church. Louis was always busy. He loved to work; he was a wood worker, he enjoyed working outside, and gardening and he loved his family. Louis is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Jane, 4 sisters, and 1 brother.

Survivors include 2 sons, Charlie (Vickie) Emerson and Randy Emerson, both from Jonesboro. 1 daughter, Lisa (Paul) Rogers from Jonesboro. 1 brother, William (Betty) Emerson from Jefferson City, MO. Grandchildren, Casey Emerson, Wes Ferguson, Mandy Bari, Cody Emerson, Zach Kaja, Matt Kaja, J.P. Rogers, Lauren Wall. Great grandchildren, Laura Mae Bari, Cooper Kaja, Jensen Kaja, Hunter Kaja, Dalton Kaja, Charlee Wall, Maggie Ferguson, Kailey Ferguson.

Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:30 P.M. August 9, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Service will start at 2:30 P.M. with Kathy Holler officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers include Matt Kaja, Zach Kaja, J.P. Rogers, Chuck Bari, Cody Emerson, Wes Ferguson.
